About Me
I am originally from Cleveland, Ohio, where I spent the 1990s developing my skills as a bartender and working as a stage actor. In 2002 I moved to Columbus to pursue a career teaching high school theatre, believing that my time in hospitality was behind me. When my son was born in 2005, I quit teaching to be a stay-at-home father and returned to bartending in the evenings. I have worked in both casual and fine dining environments, including Ted's Montana Grill in the Arena District, Barcelona, G. Michael's Bistro, and The Refectory. I began focusing on craft cocktails in 2012, and I have developed many original drinks while studying the history and development of spirits and classic cocktails. If you are interested in seeing me in action and getting a sense of how I ply my trade, you can find me at The Hey Hey Bar and Grill in German Village on Tuesday afternoons during happy hour, serving a variety of classic and innovative contemporary cocktails.
Raise The Bar is the culmination of my years of experience in hospitality, performance, and education. My continuing drive to develop cocktails that are innovative and delicious, to serve them with panache, elegance, and style, and to share my knowledge and skills with those who want to learn are the driving forces behind Raise the Bar. I am passionate about creating unforgettable experiences by providing fresh and exciting cocktails with exceptional service, and through my professional experience and my extensive knowledge of the history, the science, and the art of mixology and bartending, I offer an intoxicating set of skills to take your event to the next level.
